Accepting the Award at the “Evening of Hope Gala” on April 19 were Rita Wedig, chair of the SWIMGA Youth Education and Diversity Committee and coordinator of the their Community Gardens/Projects; Dr. Judith Halstead, SWIMGA president; and Karen Assenza, co-chair of the Caze Elementary School Courtyard Garden and a member of the Youth Education and Diversity Committee. SWIMGA volunteers have helped residents of the Center plant a garden and grow vegetables that can be used in their kitchen.
