A Propagation and Seed-Starting Seminar for Master Gardeners and MG Interns will be held at Bethel United Church of Christ (3029 N. Green River Rd.) on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.
SWIMGA sells thousands of plants at our annual plant sale (the first Saturday in May). The more of these plants we receive as donations from our members; the more profit we make. This one event is responsible for the majority of our funding for the entire year.
This seminar by Greg Gordon and the Plant Sale Committee’s Propagation sub-committee will cover:
• Basic seed starting — including seed starting medium, light, when to start your seeds and tips for success.
• Cuttings – making many plants from one. We will demonstrate using perennials, annuals and tropical houseplants.
• Division – Perennials in the yard need to be divided periodically for their own healthy growth. We will show you how, where and when.
This seminar will include some hands-on experience. All attendees will take home a pot of seeds and a pot of cuttings. There will be a break halfway through to enjoy some delicious refreshments.
